“A Day on Campus with Families” Event Held at Sabancı University

Sabancı University once again welcomed students’ families at its traditional “A Day on Campus with Families” event. The 11th annual event took place with strong participation on Saturday, May 16, at the Tuzla Campus. The first part of the program was held at the Sabancı University Performing Arts Center (SGM).

 

 

During the opening of the event, President Yusuf Leblebici delivered a presentation for the families. In his speech, Leblebici emphasized the university’s research-oriented structure, international collaborations, and alumni achievements, stating that Sabancı University continues to uphold its position as one of Türkiye’s leading foundation universities through its strong academic performance.

 

 

Academic Vision and Future Goals of the University Shared

In his speech, President Leblebici shared Sabancı University’s academic and research achievements throughout 2025 and provided examples of the university’s international collaborations with some of the world’s leading higher education institutions. He also underlined that students have opportunities to gain international education, internship, and research experience during their studies.

During his presentation, Yusuf Leblebici also addressed student preferences and the university’s educational model. He noted that, within the framework of freedom of major declaration, students are able to select their majors after beginning their university education. He stated that technological transformations around the world are influencing student preferences and added that interest in electronic engineering and hardware-oriented fields has increased significantly in recent years.

“93% of Graduates Enter Professional Life Shortly After Graduation”

Prof. Dr. Yusuf Leblebici also highlighted that Sabancı University has over 20,000 alumni, and that one-third of them are currently working abroad in different countries at leading companies. Emphasizing the university’s identity as a research university, Leblebici provided information about ongoing projects and stated that 93% of students enter professional life shortly after graduation.

Following the presentation, President Yusuf Leblebici and Vice President for Education Cem Güneri answered questions from the families.

 

 

In the second part of the event, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Erkay Savaş, Dean of the School of Management Ayşegül Toker, and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Emre Selçuk met with the families. The academics shared information about their faculties’ academic approaches, educational programs, and opportunities offered to students, while also responding to questions from the families.

 

 

 

The program concluded with a campus tour following the Q&A session.
